If you are homeless now, we provide advice and assistance to help you secure accommodation.

If you are not eligible for our services we can still provide advice and direct you to organisations who may be able to support you.

Domestic abuse

If you are in immediate danger you must call 999.

If you need to leave your accommodation (fleeing) you should first contact RISE who are a specialist Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence organisation that can offer safety advice, guidance and if needed refuge for women experiencing or at risk from domestic abuse. We will treat all reports of domestic abuse in a sensitive and confidential manner.

Your whereabouts will be kept strictly confidential.

Sofa surfing

If you are sofa surfing with family or friends, contact the Housing Options Service without further delay. We have a range of legal duties to help people. This may be by giving advice and information or supporting you to find longer term accommodation.

We may be able to support you into Private Rented Sector accommodation.

If you are single and homeless

I have received a notice to quit from my NASS (national asylum support service) accommodation

If you have received a notice to quit from your NASS accommodation in Cardiff and you have been granted leave to remain, please contact the housing options service without delay. You should stay in your current accommodation while the housing options service work with you to find accommodation.

We will contact you and explain the steps you need to take to help find accommodation.

What happens if I am evicted from temporary accommodation?

You may be evicted from temporary accommodation because:

  • you have broken a condition of your licence agreement,
  • we no longer have a duty to help you, or you no longer want our help, or
  • we have found alternative accommodation.

If any of the above occur, you are no longer entitled to remain in temporary accommodation.

Depending on your situation, our private rented sector team may still be able to help you find alternative accommodation.

If you have been evicted from temporary accommodation you can get help and support from independent agencies such as Shelter Cymru or Speakeasy.
